The evening of November 10 is when true Split Rock Lighthouse aficionados gather near the historic landmark or along its shores for the annual beacon lighting in commemoration of the Edmund Fitzgerald's fateful last Lake Superior voyage.The beacon will be lit just after 4:30 PM this Thursday, immediately following the commemoration ceremony.
Little Two Harbors, of course, will become a temporary tripod village as eager photographers try to capture the lighthouse in its illuminated glory.
